Dr. Maurice Hilleman was a very angry man, and if his 2002 allegations are true he had every right to be.
Hilleman made mind-numbing allegations during an in-depth interview in "The Health Century"—a landmark book and later a PBS television series. During the interview the doctor alleges that giant pharmaceutical company Merck produced and distributed dangerous vaccines containing deadly viruses that have infected millions of people.
If his allegations are true, hundreds of millions may be doomed to early, painful deaths. The masses that have already been inoculated may be little better than walking dead men and women—zombies going through the motions of life with no knowledge that biological time bombs are slowly ticking away in their tainted, diseased cells.
Who was this man—he died in 2005—to make such a charge? To simply make a charge is all well and good, but was he perhaps mistaken in his allegation?
The best way to make a value judgment regarding a person's assertions is to check their experience, knowledge and accomplishments.
Dr. Hilleman developed Merck's vaccine program. Beyond that milestone, he also oversaw the creation of more than three dozen vaccines given to billions. He developed more vaccines than any other single person in the history of medicine.
The good doctor was also a member of the the American Philosophical Society, American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Institute of Medicine, and the U.S. National Academy of Science. He receieved many honors and awards during his illustrious career including a rare lifetime achievement award from the World Health Organization.
Among all of his many accomplishments as a pioneer medical researcher, Hilleman was also one of the first to raise the red flag that infected monkey viruses might have contaminated vaccines—especially the ubiquitous polio vaccine.
Speaking once about the efficacy of vaccines in the war against disease, Hilleman voiced this bombshell: "Vaccines have to be considered the bargain basement technology for the 20th Century."
Are many cancer cases caused by the polio vaccine?
Back in 2002 the prestigious medical journal Lancet went to press with astounding data that suggested the polio vaccine was contaminated. The study also presented evidence that nearly half of the new 55,000 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma cases that were occurring annually had their root cause in the vaccine.
The peer-reviewed, published study claimed that SV40, a cancer-causing monkey virus had contaminated the vaccine as long ago as 1953.
This frightening revelation came to light when a brilliant Loyola University researcher, Dr. Michele Carbone, confronted a medical mystery. Carbone found the virus SV40—a virus never before seen in humans—was present in about 50 percent of the human lung tumors he studied.
Other researchers rushed to confirm or challenge the study he published about the deeply disturbing find. Since 1964 60 laboratory studies were conducted. Every study confirms Carbone's original findings. But the new research found more. Much more.
Deadly, virulent cancers
Many of the intense studies conducted by worried researchers confirmed their worst fears: the cancer-causing SV40 monkey virus is present in a whole spectrum of deadly, virulent cancers including brain, lung, bone, and lymphatic cancers.
Worse, some evidence exists that the tainted monkey serum used in the vaccine may have helped AIDs jump species and infect humans initiating the start of the AIDs epidemic.
Medical researchers at the cutting-edge of science have been worried for decades about the link between the polio vaccine and the huge upswing in cancer cases. The scientists have been warning that upwards of multi-millions of doses of the polio vaccine were contaminated with SV40. They believe the contaminated vaccine infected millions of children between 1953 and 1963 with a virus that causes tumoorous cancers.
Newer research turned the spotlight on molecular evidence: SV40 infections were also being found in those born after 1982. This has led some scientists to believe that the deadly virus might have neen present in the vaccine right up to 1999.
What can be done?
Thankfully, all new polio vaccines have been screened for the SV40 virus. Health authorities say the vaccines are now infection free.
But that's little consolation to the millions that are infected, or to the families that helplessly watch loved ones wither and die from the virulent forms of lung or brain or other cancers they contracted from the SV40 infected polio vaccine they had been given as a child.
It took 40 years for science to finally catch up with the error.
That millions have already died from the terrible medical error is a subject of some debate. Yet all the evidence supports the horror as a fact.
Shockingly, millions more are still infected. How many of them will die from the vaccine? Those who were under 18 years of age between 1953 to 1963, and children that received the vaccine from 1982 to 1999, are at greatest risk.
Only time will tell if the number that eventually die from this gigantic, tragic medical blunder will be measured in the tens of millions or hundreds of millions worldwide.
